Contrary to popular belief, Sopor Aeternus and The Ensemble of Shadows is not a huge band. All is the work of Anna-Varney Cantodea, with the first appearance made in 1989. We can define the music as being Darkwave but there is much more to that. There are currently a lot of disputes going on to characterize the music of Sopor Aeternus. Bitter Sweet is one song taken from the album “Les Fleurs du Mal“, which appeared in 2007. The biggest dispute possible appeared when linked to this musician as gender problems. The truth is that not many people know too many facts about Anna. She is a transgender as she was born a man and I still do not know if Anna has actually got the operation done to become a woman. It is clear that Cantodea wants to be referred as a SHE so this is kind of solved.

Although a lot can be said, I recommend that you check out all the information yourself. We are talking about one musician that seems to have suffered a lot and spent a lot of time in depression.
